CINÉPOP - Licence amendment

1. The Commission approves the application by Astral Broadcasting Group Inc. to amend the broadcasting licence for the French-language Category 2 pay television programming undertaking known as CINÉPOP. Specifically, the Commission amends the condition of licence relating to the Canadian Association of Broadcasters' Sex-role portrayal code for television and radio broadcasting in order to reflect its replacement by the Equitable Portrayal Code.1 The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
2. Accordingly, the new condition of licence shall read as follows:

he licensee shall adhere to the Canadian Association of Broadcasters' Equitable Portrayal Code, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission. However, the application of the foregoing condition of licence will be suspended as long as the licensee is a member in good standing of the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council.
