Administrative renewal

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the Type A community radio programming undertaking CFTH-FM-2 Baie-des-moutons from 1 January 2009 to 30 April 2009, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licence.1

In Broadcasting Public Notice 2008-49, the Commission announced that it was considering a licence renewal application for CFTH-FM-1 Harrington Harbour and its transmitters, including CFTH-FM-2. In fact, CFTH-FM-2 is currently licensed as a radio programming undertaking.

In Broadcasting Decision 2008-239, which renewed the licence for CFTH-FM-1, the Commission acknowledged that it had incorrectly indicated in Broadcasting Public Notice 2008-49 that CFTH-FM-2 was a transmitter. Since then, the licensee has advised the Commission that it plans to file an application to amend the licence for CFTH-FM-1 in order to operate CFTH-FM-2 as a transmitter of CFTH-FM-1. This administrative renewal term will allow for the Commission to determine the undertaking's status.

This decision does not dispose of any substantive issues that may exist with respect to the renewal of this licence. The Commission will issue a decision on the renewal application at a later date.
