| Application by 4352416 Canada Inc. relating to the broadcasting licence for the English-language commercial specialty FM radio programming undertaking CJMB-FM Peterborough (formerly CKKK-FM Peterborough). | ||
| The licensee proposes to change CJMB-FM’s authorized contours by increasing the effective radiated power from 50 to 206 watts, by increasing the effective height of the antenna above average terrain from 12.9 to 69 metres and by relocating the antenna. | ||
| The licensee states that it did not implement the technical amendments approved in CKKK-FM Peterborough – Technical change, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2007-224, 9 July 2007 because it has not been able to access the intended tower site. In the above decision, the Commission approved an application by the licensee to change the frequency and modify the authorized contours of the station given that the frequency on which the low-power station was operating on was granted to another radio programming undertaking. The licensee affirms that an agreement was reached to locate the new tower on a building but that the property was sold and the new owner has refused to honour the previous agreement. The licensee has therefore been unable to implement the changes to the authorized contours approved in the decision, but did operate on frequency 90.5 MHz (channel 213A1) before being forced off the air. CJMB-FM had been granted protected status in the above-mentioned decision. | ||
