With this notice, the Commission announces the dates and locations for the oral hearing to be held pursuant to Proceeding to review access to basic telecommunications services and other matters, Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2010-43, 28 January 2010 (Telecom Notice of Consultation 2010-43).

2.

The oral hearing will commence in Timmins, Ontario on 25 October 2010 at the Days Inn and Conference Centre, Ballroom A-B, 14 Mountjoy Street South, and will last no more than four days at that location.

3.

The oral hearing will then reconvene in Gatineau, Quebec on 1 November 2010 at the Conference Centre, Phase IV, Outaouais Room, 140 Promenade du Portage, and is expected to last approximately five days. Should additional time be required, the hearing will continue at that location and may last until 10 November 2010.

4.

Parties wishing to appear at the oral hearing shall file notice of their intention to participate no later than 30 June 2010. Parties are to include in the notice their preference of location at which they wish to appear.

5.

Parties who cannot attend the oral hearing at either of the locations may participate from the Commission's regional offices via videoconferencing. Parties interested in doing so should indicate clearly, in their notice of intention to participate, the regional office from which they wish to appear and whether they wish to participate at the Timmins or Gatineau portion of the hearing. A list of the Commission's regional offices is provided in Telecom Notice of Consultation 2010-43.

The Commission will make every effort to accommodate each party's preferred hearing location. However, in order to ensure the orderly conduct of the oral hearing, some parties may be requested to participate at a specific location.

7.

The Commission will issue, as soon as possible, the list of parties who have filed a notice of intention to participate at the oral hearing. The list will set out the location at which each party will be heard and their order of appearance.

8.

Persons requiring communications support such as assistive listening devices and sign language interpretation are requested to inform the Commission at least twenty (20) days before the commencement of the oral hearing so that the necessary arrangements can be made.

9.

An organization and conduct letter, providing directions on procedure with respect to the oral hearing, including the scope of the issues to be examined, will be issued prior to the commencement of the oral hearing. All issues identified in the organization and conduct letter will be examined at both oral hearing locations.
