Notice of hearing

16 January 2012 (previously 18 January 2012)
Miramichi, New Brunswick
Change of hearing date and amendment to notice

Further to Broadcasting Notices of Consultation 2011-675, 2011-675-1 and 2011-675-2, the Commission announces the following (changes are in bold):

The Commission will hold a hearing beginning on 16 January 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Rodd Miramichi River, 1809 Water Street, Miramichi, New Brunswick.

In Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2011-675, the Commission stated that it may withdraw any application from the hearing if it is not advised by the Department of Industry (the Department), at least twenty days prior to the hearing, that the application is technically acceptable.

As noted above, the hearing will now commence on 16 January 2012, two days earlier than anticipated.

In light of the above, and taking into account the holiday period, the Commission deems it appropriate, in this particular instance, to extend the deadline for the Department to advise the Commission that the applications are technically acceptable. Accordingly, the Commission announces that it may now withdraw any application from the hearing if it is not advised by the Department, by 5 January 2012, that the application is technically acceptable.

Secretary General
