Re: Broadcasting application 2012-0877-8

Dear Ms. Courtemanche:

This is in reference to the application by OWN Inc. (OWN) to make amendments to its current licence including its nature of service definition and re-designation of the service as a Category B specialty programming undertaking, which was published as a Part 1 application on 30 July 2012.

Commission staff is of the view that this application raises certain policy issues that should not be dealt with through a Part 1 proceeding, and will therefore consult with the Commission on the most appropriate route for this application. Accordingly, please be advised that this process has been closed and you will be informed of the next steps following further analysis and discussion with the Commission.

A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the proceeding.

Sincerely,

Tracy Speigel
Broadcasting Analyst
