Dear Sir:

Please be advised that, as stated in the attached Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2014-426 (the Notice), the Commission requires the attendance of Sher-E-Punjab Radio Broadcasting Inc. (Sher-E-Punjab) at the above-mentioned Hearing. The hearing will begin on 15 October 2014 at 9:00 am at the Conference Centre, Phase IV, 140 Promenade du Portage, Gatineau, Quebec.

A copy of the Notice is attached as Appendix A. The Notice and the public electronic record related to this matter are available on the CRTC website at http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2014/2014-426.htm.

You have the right to file comments on the record.

Pursuant to section 57 of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission Rules of Practices and Procedure (the Rules of Procedure), Sher-E-Punjab may review the documents relied on by the Commission in its decision to review this matter and may provide comments and file supporting documents with the Commission by 28 August 2014. Please see instructions explaining how to file comments and/or supporting documents below.

To assist you in this review, please find attached as Appendix B a hard copy of the record relied on by the Commission in its decision to review this matter, which includes:

As set out in the Notice, all documents filed in this proceeding not designated confidential will form part of the public record and will be available on the CRTC website.

Please note that in Changes to certain practices for filing interventions, Broadcasting Information Bulletin CRTC 2010-28-1, published on 10 December 2010, the Commission announced that it will permit applicants to organize and file in a single submission supporting interventions to broadcasting matters announced in Notices of Consultation. If you wish to file supporting interventions, please use the cover letter template found at the end of this letter.

You have a responsibility to inform the public about this Notice.

In accordance with the Broadcasting Act, the Notice will be published in the Canada Gazette and in newspapers circulated in your area.

In accordance with section 35(1)(a) of the Rules of Procedure, you are required to post the Notice of Consultation or an electronic link to it on a page of your website that is accessible from the home page no later than 5 calendar days from the date of the Notice of Consultation and keep it there until the deadline for intervening in the proceeding. In recognition of the transition to the new Rules of Procedure, if a website is not provided, you are required to answer an e-mail request for an electronic copy of the application within 48 hours of the request.

Should interested parties ask you how to file an intervention, inform them that a link to the electronic form is included in every Commission Notice. The use of this electronic form will greatly facilitate the Commission’s processing of interventions. The deadline for interventions is 12 September 2014.

You have the right to reply to any interventions or answers filed in this proceeding.

If you wish to provide comments and file supporting documents with the Commission in reply to an intervention or answer from a respondent, you must do so no later than 22 September 2014. A copy of the reply must be served upon the intervener or respondent. The Commission will not systematically solicit replies to interventions or answers.

In Changes to certain practices for filing interventions, Broadcasting Information Bulletin CRTC 2010-28, 20 January 2010, and Changes to certain practices for filing interventions – Expansion of filing practices to include the filing of joint supporting comments for broadcasting policy proceedings, Broadcasting Information Bulletin CRTC 2010-28-1, 10 December 2010, the Commission announced that it will permit parties to coordinate, organize and file in a single submission supporting interventions/comments to broadcasting proceedings announced in notices of consultation.
