Re: Closing of Part 1 application (application 2016-1244-0)

Dear Ms. Mainville-Neeson:

This is in reference to application 2016-1244-0 by TELUS Communications Inc., and 1219823 Alberta ULC and Emergis Inc. in partnership with TELUS Communications Inc. in TELE-MOBILE Company, partners in a general partnership carrying on business as TELUS Communications Company (TELUS) to amend its regional broadcasting licence for terrestrial broadcasting distribution undertakings (BDUs) serving various locations in British Columbia by deleting condition of licence #7 relating to the mandatory distribution of CHBC-TV (Global) Kelowna in Kamloops, as set out in Appendix 1 to Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2009-679.

As per the Commission’s decision letter L2017-16 dated 21 March 2017 approving in part application 2017-0109-5 by TELUS to amend its licence by deleting three licensed areas (Kamloops, Terrace and Prince George, British Columbia), the undertaking serving Kamloops has been deleted from TELUS’ regional broadcasting licence. Therefore, the condition of licence that TELUS requested to delete in application 2016-1244-0 no longer applies and the application is no longer necessary.

In light of the above, the Commission has closed the file.

A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the proceeding.

Best regards,

Pierre-Louis Prégent
