Re: Part 1 application 2017-1079-9, amendment to licence CBY Corner Brook - NL

Dear Ms. Kirshenblatt,

On November 20 2017, the CBC requested that the Commission consider its technical amendment application under an administrative approach pursuant to Broadcasting Information Bulletin CRTC 2010-960 (section 6). In the event that the Commission did not process its application administratively, the CBC requested, in the alternative, that the Commission shorten the timelines associated with the processing of its application to ensure the signal in the region of St-Anthony, NL is not compromised.

Commission staff is of the view that this type of request falls beyond the scope of an administrative route and that the public should be given an opportunity to file submissions.

Under the circumstances, Commission staff considers it appropriate that the timeframes for this application be shortened. As such, the timetable for the process has been revised as follows:

Interested parties will have until December 11 2017 to submit interventions relating to the application.

The applicant will have until December 18 2017 to reply to interventions.

Best regards,

A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the proceeding.

Yours sincerely,
