CRTC approves Astral/Standard transaction
OTTAWA-GATINEAU — The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) today approved Astral Media Radio G.P.'s acquisition of 53 radio stations and 2 conventional television stations owned by Standard Radio Inc.
Today's decision (Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2007-359) follows a process that included a public hearing, which was held on August 27, 2007.
The CRTC
The CRTC is an independent, public authority that regulates and supervises broadcasting and telecommunications in Canada.
