Upcoming renewals of TV undertakings (2011-2012)
The Commission intends to consider the renewals of television undertakings at public hearings according to the following schedule:
- Private English-language Groups and certain other services: CTV, Canwest, Rogers, Corus, and CJBN-TV Kenora - Spring 2011.
- CBC / Radio Canada (television and radio) - Fall 2011.
- Private French-language Groups and certain other services: Quebecor, V interactions, Astral, Canal Evasion - Fall 2011.
- All other conventional, specialty, pay, PPV, and community television undertakings whose licences expire in the next two years - Fall 2012*.
- The renewal of VOD undertakings will be handled via paper processes in 2011*.
*Administrative renewal decisions will be issued for the affected television licensees whose broadcasting licences expire on 31 August 2011 or 2012, where necessary.
