Please note that the Official Languages Act requires that government publications be available in both official languages.

 

In order to meet some of the requirements under this Act, the Commission's transcripts will therefore be bilingual as to their covers, the listing of CRTC members and staff attending the public hearings, and the table of contents.

 

However, the aforementioned publication is the verbatim transcript and, as such, is transcribed in either of the official languages, depending on the language spoken by the participant at the public hearing.

--- Opening of Public Hearing at 12:30 P.M.

 

            CHAIRMAN: Order please, à l'ordre s'il vous plaît.

 

            Good morning ladies and gentlemen and welcome to this public hearing of the Commission.  My name is Konrad von Finckenstein and I will chair this hearing. With me on the panel are my colleagues, Rita Cugini, Helen del Val, Elizabeth Duncan and Stuart Langford.  Ms. Jade Roy will be the Secretary of this hearing and Mr. Stephen Millington will be our legal counsel. Ms. Secretary, what is the item on the agenda for today?

 

            SECRETARY:  Thank you, Mr. Chairman.

 

            On 28 June 2007, the Commission published Broadcasting Notice of Public Hearing CRTC 2007-8, indicating that the application of John D. McKellar, on behalf of 1738700 Ontario Inc. would be considered, subject to interventions, without the appearance of the parties.  For the record, no interventions were filed for these proceedings.

 

            Thank you, Mr. Chairman.

            Helen del Val:                        No questions, Mr. Chairman.
