RE: Request for new CO Code Emergency Notification

Dear Sir:

On 18 February 2014, téliPhone Navigata-Westel Communication Inc. (TNW) requested that Commission staff approve emergency notification for two new central office (CO) code activations, specifically:
• CO code 778360 in Abbotsford British Columbia, with an activation date of 6 March 2014; and
• CO code 778560 in Campbell River British Columbia, with an activation date of 6 March 2014.

In its request, TNW indicated that it is in the process of establishing local network interconnection arrangements in the Fraser Valley and Comox-Strathcona local interconnection regions. TNW stated that, on February 12, 2014, it had been informed that new CO codes must be assigned for its points of interconnection in the Campbell River and Abbottsford exchanges. Otherwise, information associated with those exchanges in the Business Integrated Routing and Rating Database System would cause call routing issues.

Commission staff considers that TNW’s request emergency notification for the new CO codes is reasonable.

Commission staff notes that TNW is required to submit, to the Canadian Number Administrator, CO code assignment Part 1 forms for the requested codes identifying the associated Common Language Location Identifier (CLLI) codes and effective date.

Sincerely,
