RE: Request for new CO Code Emergency Notification

Dear Sir:

On 14 March 2014, Comwave Networks Inc. (Comwave) requested that Commission staff approve an extension to the in-service date for its Edmonton 587-760 central office (CO) code.

In its request, Comwave indicated that reservation of 587-760 is currently set to expire on 15 March 2014. Comwave also indicated that, for various reasons, its expansion to Edmonton has been delayed. Testing of the interconnection and routing arrangements with TELUS Communications Company is to commence on 21 April 2014, and the commercial in-service date is planned for 5 May 2014.

Comwave stated that failure to obtain an extension would result in a loss of the test window which would need to be rescheduled once a new CO code is obtained, resulting in a further delay of Comwave commencing service as a competitive local exchange carrier in Edmonton.

Commission staff considers that Comwave’s request to extend the CO code in-service date is reasonable.

Sincerely,
