Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1984-251 dated 15 October 1984, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CKQR Castlegar by changing the frequency from 1,230 kHz to 760 kHz and by increasing the day-time power from 1,000 watts to 20,000 watts and the night-time power from 250 watts to 5,000 watts.
These changes will result in improved service to the residents of the Regional Districts of Kootenay Boundary and Central Kootenay.
The Commission acknowledges the interventions from the supporting Castlegar Downtown Businessmen's Association, the City of Castlegar and the Castlegar Weather Office.
