Decision

Ottawa, 19 June 1989
Decision CRTC 89-330
Alain Larivière
Sainte-Aurélie, Quebec - 882786700 - 883391500
Following a Public Hearing in Quebec City on 13 March 1989, the Commission renews the licence for the broadcasting receiving undertaking serving Sainte-Aurélie held by Alain Larivière, from 1 October 1989 to 31 August 1994. The operation of this undertaking is regulated pursuant to Parts I and III of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 (the regulations) and the licence will be subject to the conditions specified in this decision and in the licence to be issued.
In addition to the services required or authorized to be distributed pursuant to the applicable sections of the regulations, the licensee is authorized to continue to distribute, at its option, CFJP-TV Montreal, as part of the basic service.
The Commission approves the licensee's request with respect to section 23 of the regulations. Accordingly, it is a condition of licence that the licensee be relieved of the requirement that it distribute at least four television programming services delivered to its local head end by a network operator licensed to extend television and radio services to remote and underserved communities, at least one of which must be a Canadian television programming service, so long as the licensee distributes only one U.S. television station.
The Commission notes that the licensee will distribute only one CANCOM service, TCTV Montreal, by virtue of the fact that the reception quality of this signal is better than that of CFTM-TV Montreal, an extra-regional station offering the programs of the TVA network.

Secretary General
