The Commission has received the following applications:

1. LOURDES-DE-BLANC-SABLON, Quebec

|
Application (881087100) by RADIO BLANC SABLON INC., P.O. Box 8, Lourdes-de-Blanc-Sablon, Quebec, G0G 1W0, to amend the licence to carry on the broadcasting transmitting undertaking for CFBS-FM Lourdes-de-Blanc-Sablon, as follows:

|
a) by increasing the effective radiated power from 25 to 178 watts (average); and
|
|
b) by amending the Promise of Performance as follows:
|
|
- by increasing locally-produced programming from 48 to 60 hours weekly;
|
|
- by adding the rebroadcast of 108 hours weekly of CITE-FM Montréal programming, received via satellite;
|
|
- by decreasing the news broadcast (Category 1) from 8 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes weekly; and
|
|
- by operating in the Group IV music format instead of the Group I music format.
|
|
The licensee states that this increase in power will improve the service and ensure that the signal shall be powerful enough for rebroadcast to proposed rebroadcasters in Middle Bay and Rivière Saint-Paul, Quebec.

Applications (883667800, 883668600, 883669400, 883670200, 883671000, 883672800, 883673600, 883674400) by QCTV LTD., 10538 - 114th Street, Edmonton, Alberta, T5H 4A6, to amend the licences for the broadcasting receiving undertakings serving the above-mentioned localities, by adding a condition of licence relieving the licensee from the requirement to distribute the programming service of a French-language television station owned and operated by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and distributed to the licensee by satellite or microwave relay, as set out in Paragraph 9(1)(f) of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986.

Instead, the licensee proposes to distribute the programming service of one of the following extra-regional or distant television stations owned and operated by the CBC: CBXFT Edmonton, CBXFT-3 Lethbridge, CBXFT-4 Red Deer and CBRFT Calgary, Alberta.
