Notice of Public Hearing

Ottawa, 18 December 1992
Notice of Public Hearing CRTC 1992-17-1
ISSUE NO. 2
MONCTON, NEW BRUNSWICK
17 FEBRUARY 1993, 9:00 A.M.
ATLANTIC REGION / RÉGION DE L'ATLANTIQUE
31. RIVERPORT SATELLITE T.V. LIMITED, LICENSEE OF THE (RADIOCOMMUNICATION) DISTRIBUTION UNDERTAKING SERVING LAHAVE, RIVERPORT AND SURROUNDING AREA, Nova Scotia
The Commission hereby calls the above-noted licensee to the public hearing commencing on 17 February 1993 at the Hotel Beauséjour, 750 Main Street, Moncton, New Brunswick, to discuss the licensee's failure to respond to complaints concerning quality of service, customer service, request to obtain service, refundable deposit and failing to reply to Commission letters.
From a report of the Department of Communications dated April 1992 (which was sent to the licensee on 28 May 1992), the Commission has been informed that the licensee's system "does not provide Grade B coverage to a significant portion of the area identified as the official Grade B Contour". Even though the Commission requested the licensee to comment on the contents of this report, the licensee has failed to do so, to date. Accordingly, the Commission will also wish to discuss with the licensee why it is apparently not providing service to a significant portion of its authorized area.
All interested parties wishing to comment on the operation of this (radiocommunication) distribution undertaking must send their comments to the Secretary General, CRTC, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 0N2, by 28 January 1993.
Allan J. Darling
Secretary General
