Decision CRTC 2001-368

Ottawa, 21 June 2001

Radio du Golfe inc.
Saint-Anne-des-Monts, Cloridorme, Rivière-à-Claude, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts est, Murdochville and Grande-Vallée, Quebec
2000-2163-4, 2000-2162-6, 2000-2160-1, 2000-2197-3, 2000-2198-1

Applications processed by Public Notice CRTC 2001-44 dated 19 April 2001

Addition of transmitters of CJMC-FM Saint-Anne-des-Monts at Cloridorme, Rivière-à-Claude, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts est and Murdochville, and change of frequency for CJMC-FM-4 Grande-Vallée

1.

The Commission approves the applications to amend the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CJMC-FM Saint-Anne-des-Monts (the originating station), by authorizing the licensee to:

· add transmitters at Cloridorme, Rivière-à-Claude, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts est and Murdochville.

· change the frequency of CJMC-FM-4 Grande-Vallée, from 92.7 MHz (channel 224LP) to 103.1 MHz (channel 276LP).

2.

These transmitters will enable the licensee to offer regional information to residents of the above-noted localities.

3.

As proposed, the new FM transmitters will operate on frequency 103.1 MHz, channel 276LP, with an effective radiated power of 9 watts for Cloridorme and Sainte-Anne-des-Monts est, 1.5 watts for Rivière-à-Claude and 50 watts for Murdochville.

4.

The authority will be effective and the licence will be amended only at such time as:

· the licensee confirms in writing that it is ready to begin operation of the transmitter. This must take place within 12 months of today's date. Any request for an extension to that deadline requires Commission approval and must be made in writing within that period.

· the Department of Industry, having advised that the application is conditionally technically acceptable, has determined that there is no unacceptable interference with NAV/COM services and indicated that it will issue a broadcasting certificate (section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act).

5.

The technical parameters approved in this decision are for low-power unprotected FM services. The applicant would have to select another frequency if required to do so to permit the best use of the frequency band.
