Subject: CCD/CTD Contributions
Mr. Pellegrino,
Further to our email exchange and phone discussion regarding CHSC's CTD/CCD obligations, the following Regulatory Policy has recently come to my attention which alters your CCD/CTD obligations as it effectively deletes the condition of licence under which you were obligated to make annual contributions of $5,000 http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2009/2009-62.htm. Commission staff will be applying this change on a going forward basis beginning with the 2008-2009 broadcast year.
This email is to confirm that, as a result of this Regulatory Policy your CTD/CCD obligations for the broadcast year ending 31 August 2009 is $500, and not $4,500 as previously discussed. While contributions to Canadian content beyond the regulatory obligation are welcome, Commission staff no longer considers CHSC in non-compliance with its CCD obligations for the 2008-2009 broadcast year. However, the shortfall for the previous years remains.
