Subject: Telecom Order CRTC 2025-215, Procedural concerns, Extension request, and Clarification of scope for Part 1 Application by Rogers Communications Canada Inc.
Dear Stéphane Émard-Chabot,
In a letter dated 4 September 2025, the City of Ottawa (the City) requested an extension to the deadline for filing its reply comments (Reply) with the Commission in relation to the Telecom Order CRTC 2025-215. Specifically, the City asked to move the deadline from 25 September 2025 to 10 October 2025 to submit interventions. The City explained that it had not been directly notified of the Order and only became aware of it upon receiving new documents from Rogers.
As a general practice, the Commission does not serve Orders directly to all interested parties. It is the responsibility of each party to monitor the CRTC website for updates.
However, given that no party has objected to the request for an extension, Commission staff is of the view that granting the extension would contribute to the Commission’s goal to foster informed participation and contribute to a more complete record of the proceeding. Commission staff agree that the extension request is reasonable and would not result in undue delay or prejudice.
Accordingly, the deadline for interested parties to file their submissions is extended to 10 October 2025.
Commission staff also extends the deadline for Rogers to supplement or resubmit its reply to 17 October 2025.
Commission staff encourages all interested persons to submit their views and evidence on the record of the proceeding. It will remain up to the Commission to determine whether new submissions are accepted as part of the record.
A copy of this letter will be added to the public record of the proceeding.
Sincerely,
Original signed by
