Subject: TELUS Communications Inc. Tariff Notice 607 – New Speed for Network-to-Network Interface Service (AB/BC)
On 15 October 2025, the Commission received an application (Tariff Notice 607) from TELUS Communications Inc. (TELUS) proposing changes to its Carrier Access Tariff CRTC 21462, Item 236, Wholesale Internet FTTPService, for the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.
In a letter dated 31 October 2025, TekSavvy Solutions Inc. (TekSavvy) requested that the Commission issue requests for information to TELUS similar to those issued by the Commission on 2 October 2025 in relation to TELUS’ Tariff Notices (TN) 599 and 663. TekSavvy submitted that the issues that led to these requests for information are also present in TN 607. TekSavvy also requested that the Commission extend the filing date for interventions on TN 607 until after TELUS has filed responses to the requests for information sought by TekSavvy.
Commission staff acknowledges the similarities between this application and the above-noted tariff notices raised by TekSavvy. Based on preliminary analysis, Commission staff expects to issue requests for information in relation to TN 607 at a later date. However, in Commission staff’s view, it would be appropriate to issue any requests for information related to this application following the receipt of interventions and TELUS’ reply, as the comments provided by interveners and TELUS will likely assist Commission staff in identifying any issues that would need to be explored through requests for information. Commission staff therefore maintains 17 November 2025 as the deadline for interventions on TN 607.
Furthermore, Commission staff is continuing its analysis of TN 607. Consequently, this application will not be disposed of by the 45th business day following receipt. However, the Commission intends to issue a decision by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
Sincerely,
