Subject: Letter filed by the Forum for Research and Policy in Communications – Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2026-115

Monica Auer,

Commission staff acknowledges receipt of your letter dated 16 June 2026 and filed on the record of Call for comments – Renewing radio licences for indefinite terms, Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2026-115, 5 June 2026 (NoC 2026-115).

Call for comments

NoC 2026-115 is seeking comments on the Commission’s proposal to grant indefinite term licences to all radio stations listed in the appendix and explains that one of the Commission’s goals is to reduce administrative and regulatory burden for regulated undertakings. In providing comments, parties may comment on this, as well as on any impact a party’s own submissions may have on administrative or regulatory burden.

Stakeholders

“Stakeholder” is a widely used, plain language term. NoC 2026-115 uses the term in the context of discussing the Commission's broader efforts to simplify processes and frameworks for those who engage with the Commission and have an interest in the broadcasting system. The Commission’s red tape reduction report, which speaks to these efforts, can be viewed here: Red Tape Reduction Progress Report | CRTC.

A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the proceeding.

Sincerely,

Original signed by

Rachel Marleau
