Subject: Procedural request from the Forum for Research and Policy in Communications – Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2026-115
Dear Monica Auer,
Thank you for your procedural request dated 23 June 2026, in which the Forum for Research and Policy in Communications seeks clarification regarding Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2026-115 (the Notice). The FRPC raises questions about the nature of the comments to be submitted and the meaning of the term “stakeholder”, as used in the Notice.
As CRTC staff indicated in their letter dated 22 June 2026, the Notice seeks comments on the proposal to grant indefinite licence terms to all stations listed in the appendix to the Notice. Consistent with its recent practices, the Commission also encourages parties to consider the regulatory burden associated with any measures proposed in the Notice or with any measure they themselves may propose.
The term “stakeholder” is used to refer to any person who may have an interest in Commission processes or be affected by their outcome.
A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the proceeding.
