TELUS Communications Inc. (“TELUS”) is writing to provide an update regarding
the discontinuance of voice services in three regions in British Columbia, as
addressed in TD CRTC 2025-51.1 In that decision, the CRTC approved TELUS’
application to discontinue local voice services provided through its SR500 system
in these areas, due to the expiration of TELUS’ authorization to use the 3.5GHz
spectrum currently used to operate the system. The Commission also ordered
TELUS to provide additional financial compensation to the affected customers.

The October 29 Letter and November 5 Letter notified parties of what are purported to be two new interventions added to the record of the above-noted proceeding (the “new Interventions”). In addition, the November 5 Letter posed additional RFI questions to TELUS, and extended the deadline to file a Reply.

PIAC is requesting the disclosure of information filed in confidence by TELUS in its response to a request for information (“RFI”) filed on November 8, 2024. The information was designated as confidential by TELUS and, if disclosed, TELUS would suffer harm as described below. As a result, TELUS asks that PIAC’s request for disclosure be dismissed.
