Telecommunications Fees

The Telecommunications Fees Regulations, 2010 (Fees Regulations) provide for the payment of annual telecommunications fees by certain telecommunications service providers, as set out in sections 2 and 3 of the Fees Regulations.
Pursuant to subsection 3(4) of the Fees Regulations, the Commission hereby announces that the estimated total telecommunications regulatory costs of the Commission for the 2025-2026 fiscal year (1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026) are $58.842 million. This represents an increase of 3.8%^{Footnote 1} compared to the amount for the 2024-2025 fiscal year ($56.675 million).
The annual adjustment amount referred to in subsection 3(5) of the Fees Regulations for the 2024-2025 fiscal year is $2.203 million.
Taking into account the annual adjustment above, the net billing for the Commission’s telecommunications fees for the 2025-2026 fiscal year is $61.045 million. The increase is mainly attributable to the ratification of collective agreements in 2024-2025, which cause salaries and related costs to rise.
