Fol]owing a Public Hearing in St. John's on 22 May 1984, the Commission approves the application for a broadcasting licence for an English-language FM radio station at Hopedale on the frequency 91.1 MHz, channel 216, with an effective radiated power of 93 watts to rebroadcast the programs of CFGB Happy Valley/Goose Bay.
The Commission will issue a licence expiring 30 September 1986, subject to the conditions of licence specified in the licence to be issued. This term will enable the Commission to consider the renewal of this licence at the same time as that of CFGB.
The CBC has indicated that it will discontinue the operation of CBNN Hopedale after the proposed FM station becomes operational.
