Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Elk Island National Park, Alberta - 851551200
Following a Public Hearing in Montreal on 21 January 1986, the Commission approves the application for a broadcasting licence for a French-language AM radio station at Elk Island National Park, on frequency 1210 kHz with a day-time and night-time power of 20 watts. The Commission will issue a licence expiring 30 September 1990, subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued.
The proposed station will provide visitors to the area with pre-taped programming related to the use, natural history and other features of Elk Island National Park.
