Northern Native Broadcasting, Yukon Whitehorse, Yukon Territory - 843299900
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1985-254 dated 26 November 1985, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CHON-FM Whitehorse by increasing the effective radiated power from 0.6 watts to 49 watts, by changing the transmitter location to the CKRW tower and by changing the frequency from 88.9 MHz (channel 205) to 98.1 MHz (channel 251).
The Commission notes that the proposed changes will increase the station's coverage area and will provide improved service to Whitehorse and surrounding area.
In accordance with paragraph 22(1)(b) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission will only issue the licence amendment, and the authority granted herein may only be implemented, at such time as written notification is received from the Department of Communications that it will issue an amendment to the Technical Construction and Operating Certificate.
