Decision

Ottawa, 26 September 1989
Decision CRTC 89-763
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Dubreuilville, Ontario - 890297500
Following a Public Hearing in the National Capital Region on 27 June 1989, the Commission approves the application for a licence for an FM radio broadcasting transmitting undertaking at Dubreuilville on the frequency 97.9 MHz, channel 250LP, with an effective radiated power of 50 watts to rebroadcast the programming of the CBC's French-language AM radio network originating from CBON-FM Sudbury. The Commission will issue a licence expiring 31 August 1994, subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued.
The CBC has indicated that it intends to shut down CBON-11 Dubreuilville, which currently rebroadcasts the programming of the CBC's French-language AM radio network service, shortly after the new FM transmitter becomes operational. The Commission expects the CBC to cease the operation of CBON-11 within this time frame and to inform listeners of the changes herein approved. The Department of Communications (DOC) has advised the Commission that this proposal is technically acceptable, but that issuance of a Technical Construction and Operating Certificate is conditional on the resolution of any problems involving interference to aeronautical NAV/COM services.
In accordance with paragraph 13(1)(b) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission will only issue the licence, and the authority granted herein may only be implemented, at such time as written notification is received from DOC that it will issue a Technical Construction and Operating Certificate.
Fernand Bélisle
Secretary General
