Following a Public Hearing in Edmonton beginning on 5 May 1992, the Commission approves the applications by Northern Native Broadcasting (Terrace, B.C.) (NNB) for broadcasting licences for English- and Native- language FM radio programming undertakings to distribute the programming services of NNB and some locally-produced programming at the communities noted above.
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1990-89 dated 20 September 1990 entitled Native Broadcasting Policy, the Commission will issue licences for Type A FM native radio stations. These licences will expire on 31 August 1998, and will be subject to the conditions specified in this decision and in the licences to be issued.

The Commission acknowledges the important role played by NNB in meeting the linguistic and cultural needs of the native population of northern British Columbia.
It is a condition of each licence that construction of each undertaking be completed and that it be in operation within twelve months of the date of this decision or, where the applicant applies to the Commission within this period and satisfies the Commission that it cannot complete implementation before the expiry of this period and that an extension is in the public interest, within such further period of time as is approved in writing by the Commission.
In a related decision released today (Decision CRTC 92-482), the Commission approved an application by NNB for a broadcasting licence for an English- and Native- language FM radio programming undertaking at Terrace.
