Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1992-78 dated 13 November 1992, the Commission renews the broadcasting licence for CKWE-FM Maniwaki, from 1 January 1993 to 31 August 1999, subject to the conditions specified in this decision and in the licence to be issued.
The Commission notes that CKWE-FM Maniwaki will broadcast 27 hours and 30 minutes per week of local programming, of which 13 hours and 45 minutes will be in Algonquian and 13 hours and 45 minutes will be in English.
The Commission notes that this station is a Type B FM native radio station in accordance with Public Notice CRTC 1990-89 dated 20 September 1990 entitled Native Broadcasting Policy.
The licensee is reminded of the amendments to the Radio Regulations, 1986, which set out requirements for a minimum level of Spoken Word programming and Canadian musical selections.
It is a condition of licence that the licensee broadcast no more than an average of 4 minutes of advertising per hour per day, with a maximum of 6 minutes in any given hour, in accordance with the native radio policy for Type B stations.
