Decision

Ottawa, 16 April 1993
Decision CRTC 93-119
Newcap Broadcasting Limited
Grand Falls, Newfoundland - 920812500
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1992-84 dated 11 December 1992, the Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CKXG Grand Falls from 1 September 1993 to 31 August 1998, subject to the conditions specified in this decision and in the licence to be issued.
This term will enable the Commission to consider the renewal of this licence at the same time as that of other radio stations in the area.
The Commission reaffirms the particular importance it attaches to the development of Canadian talent and is satisfied with the licensee's proposals in this respect.
Consistent with Decision CRTC 89-490, dated 19 July 1989, it is a condition of licence that, at a minimum, the current hours of locally-originated programming be maintained throughout the licence term. The weekly amount of locally-originated programming required under the licence condition is 56 hours.
Allan J. Darling
Secretary General
