Decision

Ottawa, 3 December 1993
Decision CRTC 93-725
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Dawson, Yukon Territory - 920995800
Addition of a transmitter
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1993-141 dated 15 October 1993, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CFWH Whitehorse (the originating station), by authorizing the licensee to add a transmitter at Dawson, operating on frequency 104.9 MHz (channel 285A) with an effective radiated power of 413 watts.
According to the CBC, the proposed FM transmitter will replace CBDE Dawson and will improve the quality of the CBC's radio service to the town of Dawson and outlying areas. The CBC will cease operation of CBDE within twelve months following the implementation of the new FM transmitter.
