The licensee stated that the amendments outlined above will allow its undertaking to be linked to Trans-Québec's fibre optic network.
Further, the Commission approves the licensee's application to be relieved, by condition of licence, from the requirement of paragraph 9(1)(a) of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 (the regulations) that it distribute CKRT-TV-4 Cabano, a local CBC-affiliate television service, as part of the basic service. The licensee will distribute instead CKRT-TV-7 Rivière-du-Loup.
The Commission also approves the licensee's application to be relieved, by condition of licence, from the requirement of paragraph 16(2)(a) of the regulations that it distribute CJAF Cabano, a local AM radio station. The licensee will distribute instead CJFP Rivière-du-Loup.
The licensee is authorized, by condition of licence, to distribute, at its option, CFTU-TV Montréal, received via microwave, as part of the basic service of its undertaking. The Commission is satisfied that the distribution of CFTU-TV is in line with the guidelines set out in Public Notices CRTC 1985-61 and CRTC 1993-74 with respect to the distribution of distant Canadian television signals.
The licensee is also authorized to distribute WCFE-TV (PBS) Plattsburgh, New York, received via microwave, as part of the basic service.
