The Commission notes the apparent failure of the licensee to comply with Section 8 of the Radio Regulations, 1986 concerning the provision of logger tapes.

The licensee is proposing to broadcast 21 hours of ethnic programming.
|
|
The licensee proposes, as conditions of licence:
|
|
- during each broadcast week, to broadcast at least 15 hours and 30 minutes of Type A & B ethnic programs; and
|
|
- ethnic programs will be provided to a minimum of 16 cultural groups in a minimum of 16 different languages.
|
|
The licensee also proposes to amend the broadcasting licence by changing the current condition of licence on advertising and substituting therefor:
|
|
"It is a condition of licence that the applicant not broadcast more than 6 minutes of advertising per broadcast hour and that it broadcast an average of 4 minutes of advertising for every hour of broadcast, for an overall total not exceeding 504 minutes of advertising per week."
|
|
The licensee is also proposing to broadcast a maximum of 8 minutes per hour of advertising during ethnic programs, providing that the overall maximum of 504 minutes of on-air advertising is observed.
