Decision

Ottawa, 30 January 1996
Decision CRTC 96-35
La Coopérative de câblodistribution des Éboulements
Les Éboulements, Quebec - 952389500
Distribution of TVOntario's service - application denied
Following Public Notice CRTC 1995-202 dated 28 November 1995, the Commission denies the application by La Coopérative de câblodistribution des Éboulements for authority to distribute the French-language programming service of TVOntario (TFO), received via satellite, on the basic service of the cable distribution undertaking serving Les Éboulements.
Pursuant to the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 and as set out in the revised list of Part III Eligible Canadian Satellite Services (Appendix to Public Notice CRTC 1995-189 dated 6 November 1995), authorization for the distribution of out-of-province educational services not receivable over the air is subject to the requirement that there be no objection on the part of the originating service.
An intervention was received from TVOntario objecting to the proposal by La Coopérative de câblodistribution des Éboulements. The Commission notes that the licensee, in reply to the intervention, has indicated that, in view of TVOntario's objection, it would cease distribution of TFO.
