Decision

Ottawa, 11 September 1996
Decision CRTC 96-632
Radio CJFP (1986) ltée
Cabano, Quebec - 952467900
Addition of a transmitter
Following Public Notice CRTC 1996-75 dated 7 June 1996, the Commission approves the application by Radio CJFP (1986) ltée to amend the broadcasting licence of the radio programming undertaking CJFP-FM Rivière-du-Loup, by adding an FM transmitter at Cabano, operating on the frequency 98.3 MHz (channel 252A) with an effective radiated power of 3,000 watts.
The Commission notes that the licensee will cease operation of CJAF Cabano upon implementation of the new FM transmitter.
The Commission notes that numerous interventions received with respect to this application raised concerns about the possibility that approval of the application would have a negative impact on CFVD Dégelis. The licensee has demonstrated in its application that the proposed realistic coverage corresponds very closely to that of the transmitter currently in operation at Cabano. The proposed conversion to FM will therefore simply replace that transmitter.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
Allan J. Darling
Secretary General
