Licence renewal and amendment: Lillooet to be served by the Riley Creek undertaking
1. The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the radiocommunication distribution undertaking serving Riley Creek, from 1 March 1999 to 31 August 2005, subject to the conditions in effect under the current licence, as well as to those conditions specified in the licence to be issued.
2. The Commission also approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence by including Lillooet in the authorized servicearea.
3. The Commission notes that the undertaking will distribute, in non-encrypted mode, the following programming services:
CBC Northern Television Service/Service de télévision du Nord de la SRC
CHKM-TV (CTV) Kamloops
The Arts and Entertainment Network (A&E)
Open Learning Agency (Knowledge Network)
CIII-TV (Global) Toronto
The Learning Channel (TLC)
CBU-FM Vancouver
CFMI-FM New Westminster
4. The licensee is authorized to distribute the television services on channels 2 and 13, each with a transmitter power of 10 watts, on channel 22, with a transmitter power of 20 watts, on channel 39, with a transmitter power of 50 watts, on channels 41 and 43, each with a transmitter power of 25 watts.
5. The licensee is authorized to distribute the radio services on frequencies 98.7 MHz (channel 254LP) and 104.5 MHz (channel 283 LP), with an effective radiated power of 45 watts and 22.5 watts respectively.
6. The Commission notes that, as a result of this approval, the Lillooet area will be served by the Riley Creek undertaking. The Commission also notes that the licensee indicated that it will surrender the separate broadcasting licence that it holds for Lillooet which expires 31 August 1999.
