Intra-corporate reorganization |
1. |
The Commission approves the applications by Huntsville Cable Systems Limited for authority to acquire the assets of the cable distribution undertakings serving the above-noted localities, from Radio and T.V. Distribution Limited, and for broadcasting licences to continue the operation of these undertakings. |
2. |
Upon surrender of the current licences, the Commission will issue to Huntsville Cable Systems Limited: |
3. |
The operation of these undertakings will be regulated pursuant to the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations. The licences will be subject to the conditions specified in the appendix to this decision and to any other conditions that may be specified in the licences to be issued. |
4. |
This transaction represents an intra-corporate reorganization that does not alter the effective control of the licensee. |
5. |
Huntsville Cable Systems Limited is ultimately owned by Cogeco inc. |
6. |
With regard to the Parry Sound undertaking, the Commission reminds the purchaser of its longstanding policy that subscribers should not be required to pay higher fees merely because the ownership or control of a cable system has changed hands. |
7. |
The Commission encourages the licensee to consider employment equity issues in its hiring practices and in all other aspects of its management of human resources (Public Notice CRTC 1992-59). |
