Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-429

Ottawa, 11 December 2002

Fabrique Notre-Dame du Perpétuel-Secours
Sherbrooke, Quebec

Application 2002-0424-8
Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2002-42

CFPP-FM Sherbrooke - Technical change

1.

The Commission approves the application by Fabrique Notre-Dame du Perpétuel-Secours to amend the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CFPP-FM Sherbrooke, authorized in New religious radio programming undertaking, Decision CRTC 95-814, 16 November 1995, in order to change the frequency from 89.7 MHz (channel 209LP) to 88.1 MHz (channel 201LP).

2.

The Commission did not receive any intervention in connection with this application.

3.

The contour of the station will not change.

4.

The Department of Industry (the Department) has advised the Commission that, while this application is conditionally technically acceptable, it will only issue a broadcasting certificate when it has determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.

5.

The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.

6.

Given that the technical parameters approved in this decision are for a low-power unprotected FM service, the Commission also reminds the licensee that it will have to select another frequency if the Department so requires.
