Re: Implementation of competition in the local exchange and local payphone markets in the territories of Télébec and TELUS (Québec), Public Notice CRTC 2001-69, 14 June 2001

Dear Sir or Madam:

  1. In a letter dated 4 October 2002, TELUS Communications (Québec) requested, among other things, that the Commission move back all of the deadlines included in the above-mentioned procedure by approximately three weeks. Although Télébec had not requested that the deadlines be deferred, it did not oppose the TELUS Communications (Québec) Inc. request.
  2. TELUS Communications (Québec) provided explanations for the extensions requested. The carrier indicated that the work required to respond to Commission interrogatories and to produce sensitivity analyses was more involved than anticipated. It also experienced certain technical difficulties.
  3. In light of the amount of information required and the work involved in gathering it, the carrier believes it will be unable to file its responses by 8 October 2002.
  4. In view of the information filed, it is considered reasonable that the schedule for the procedure of Public Notice CRTC 2001-69 be revised for all parties as follows:

Paragraph 28: Responses to interrogatories must be filed with the Commission and served on all parties by 29 October 2002.

Paragraph 29: All parties may file comments with the Commission, serving a copy on all other parties, by 29 November 2002.

Paragraph 30: All parties may file comments in response with the Commission, serving copies on all other parties, by 8 January 2003.

  5. All material is to be filed and served, not merely sent, by the dates specified above.

Yours sincerely,

Shirley Soehn
