Optical central office link arrangement

The Commission received an application by TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI), dated 11 December 2002, to revise Special Facilities Tariff (SFT) item 685, Private Line Data - Optical Central Office (OC CO) Link arrangement, in order to add an optical central office link arrangement for use by a registered non-dominant Canadian carrier in the company's operating territory of Alberta and British Columbia.

On 2 October 2002, TCI filed, under Tariff Notice (TN) 63, an identical application proposing the introduction of OC CO links to its Carrier Access Services Tariff item 211. Since the Commission has not made a decision regarding TN 63, TCI submitted that TN 79 is intended to meet a specific customer's urgent need for the service and the company will withdraw it from its SFT upon approval of TN 63.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission approves TCI's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
