LetterOttawa, 2 October 2007 By E-mail To: E-mail distribution - Attachment 1 File Numbers - Attachment 2 Dear Sir/Madam: Re: Approach to handling certain competitor service applications By letter dated 22 June 2007, the Commission deferred further consideration of certain applications related to competitor services pending its decision on applications made by Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership (Bell Aliant), Bell Canada, Saskatchewan Telecommunications (SaskTel) and TELUS Communications Company (TCC) (the ILECs) to review and vary certain determinations in Telecom Orders CRTC 2007-20, 21, 22, 24 and 25. The Commission issued its decision with respect to these applications in Telecom Decision CRTC 2007-77 (Decision 2007-77). Consistent with the 14 December 2006 Policy Direction and Decision 2007-77, pending the Commission's determinations in the proceeding begun by Telecom Public Notice CRTC 2006-14, as amended (the Essential services proceeding), the Commission maintains interim approval of the services provided under the following tariff notices (TNs):
The Commission also maintains interim approval of the competitor Ethernet access component of [7.] Bell Aliant TN 193/193A . Further, the Commission expects that the rates, terms and conditions for these services will not be revised on a retroactive basis. Further, in light of the Essential services proceeding and consistent with the 14 December 2006 Policy Direction and Decision 2007-77, the Commission will not proceed to consider further the following applications made under Part VII of the CRTC Telecommunications Rules of Procedure .
