Ottawa, 8 April 2013

CHAU-TV Communications ltée
Percé, Quebec

Application 2012-1352-9

CHAU-DT Carleton – Technical change

1. The Commission approves the application by CHAU-TV Communications ltée relating to the broadcasting licence for the French-language digital television programming undertaking CHAU-DT Carleton to change the channel of its CHAU-DT-5 Percé transmitter from 13 to 11. All other technical parameters will remain the same. The Commission did not receive any interventions regarding this application.

2. According to the licensee, the signal of CBCT-DT Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island sometimes causes interference with the signal of CHAU-DT-5. The licensee submitted that the use of channel 11 would rectify the situation.

3. The Commission reminds the licensee that pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
