CJUI-FM Kelowna – Technical changes
1. The Commission approves the application by Vista Radio Ltd. to change the authorized contours of the radio programming undertaking CJUI-FM Kelowna by increasing the average effective radiated power (ERP) from 5,200 to 17,300 watts (maximum ERP from 10,000 to 36,800 watts), by decreasing the effective height of antenna above average terrain from 506 to -90 metres, by relocating the transmitter site and by changing the class from C1 to C. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
2. The licensee indicated that it requested these changes in order to improve coverage in the West Kelowna area.
3. The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
