Review of community television policy framework

Additional information on the public file

In the interest of providing statistical information regarding the viewership for community television, the Commission is publishing the following information to assist those wishing to participate in the review of the community television policy framework.

During the broadcast year from 1 September 2008 to 31 August 2009, licensees controlled by Rogers Cable Communications Inc. that operate community channels garnered a 0.2% share of the Canadian English-language television market, while licensees controlled by Shaw Communications Inc. that operate community channels recorded a 0.1% share. Licensees controlled by Videotron Ltd. that operate community channels achieved a 0.1% viewing share of the Quebec French-language market for the same period.1

The Commission is making this information available so that parties can comment on it either in their submission before the Commission or in any final written submission after the hearing.
