Dear Sir:

2017-0145-9 CIQI-FM Radio Montmagny Inc.

This letter is in reference to the Part 1 application submitted by Radio Montmagny Inc. to amend CIQI-FM’s licence in order to operate an FM rebroadcasting transmitter in Saint-Fabien-de-Panet.

In order for us to pursue the analysis of the above-noted application, please provide the following required information.

Request for information

In Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2008-224, the Commission granted you permission to operate a rebroadcasting transmitter in Saint-Fabien-de-Panet. You were subsequently granted two extensions.

In Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2013-46, the Commission again granted you permission to operate a rebroadcasting transmitter in Saint-Fabien-de-Panet. Commission staff notes that following this decision, the Commission granted you two extensions to commence operation of this same transmitter. The Commission gave you until February 6, 2017, to begin operating the new transmitter.

We note that, despite the extensions granted since your initial application in 2008, the Saint-Fabien-de-Panet transmitter never commenced operations.

In light of the above, you are required to provide the Commission with the detailed reasons that prevented the Saint-Fabien-de-Panet transmitter from commencing operations within the required timeframe. We also ask that you submit a concrete plan outlining the next steps for the commencement of operations if your applications is approved, as well as the projected dates for each step.

You must provide the Commission with the information requested in this letter no later than March 29, 2017, or your application could be denied.

A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the proceeding. Please note that additional clarifications may be requested at a later date.

You must submit your application or other documents electronically by using the secured My CRTC Account (Partner Log In or GCKey) service and completing the “Broadcasting Cover Page” or the “Broadcasting Online Form and Cover Page” located on the web page. You will also find information on how to submit applications to the Commission on the Submitting applications and other documents to the CRTC using My CRTC Account web page.

Should you require any further information about your application, please feel free to contact me by telephone at 819-635-8230, by fax at 819-994-0218 or by email at veronique.larose@crtc.gc.ca.

Yours sincerely,

Véronique Larose
CRTC Radio Analyst
